Recently, the use of labor arbitration for resolving labor disputes has come under direct attack, particularly in New York City. This is seen most clearly in the Teacher arbitration program established by the New York City Department of Education (DOE) and United Federation of Teachers (UFT). In particular, two recent arbitration decisions have generated criticism of the process.
