Three men convicted of stealing millions of dollars from the city through fraud, kickbacks and overbilling connected to the CityTime project were sentenced April 28 to 20 years in prison and heavily fined as well.
The case, which raised questions about city policies for contracting out technology projects, was “one of the largest and most brazen frauds ever committed against the city,” said U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, whose office handled the prosecution.
